Sophia Lapico

I am a Detroit-based illustrator and graphic designer, aspiring to be an art director. I have always had a passion for creativity because it is what humanizes me. What is unique about my creation process is my crossover between traditional and digital mediums. Pen, pastel, pencil, watercolor, and digital painting are all my mediums of choice, but I often enjoy fusing digital and physical mediums to make something unique. Additionally, my preliminary process is a distinct aspect of my work. Behind every piece there is immense research, as I love to fully immerse myself in the concept I am working with. This is so important to my work because creating is not only an opportunity for self expression, but also learning. The other part of my process that is critical to my work is my love for the details. As German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe once said, God is in the details.
